The Act on Incentives in agriculture should be established in Republika Srpska next year. It will determine the distribution of funds to support agriculture, the requirements for obtaining incentives, as well as a means to control the spent money.

Spokesmen for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Bojan Kecman, stated that the law will be enacted in the first half of 2014.

The farmers of Republika Srpska welcome the adoption of this law, saying that it will provide them with the needed amount of security and lead to an increase in production.

President of the RS Association of Pig Breeders, Miso Maljcic, said that this will allow farmers to fearlessly commit to a loan arrangement and invest it in land cultivation and livestock, because they can count on the incentives that the law guarantees.

He added that the legislation would mean much higher allocations for agriculture and most importantly, the law will not allow for violations, nor will individuals be able to interfere with it in order to fulfill their own needs.
