In the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Holy Archdiocese liturgy was dedicated to the celebration of the patron saint of the City of Banja Luka.
The liturgy was served by Jefrem Bishop of Banja Luka.
The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović extended a congratulation note to the citizen on the occasion of the Ascension Day – Spasovdan – the patron saint day of the city of Banja Luka.
“On the occasion of the Ascension Day – the patron saint day of the city, I extend the most heartfelt congratulations to all the citizens of Banja Luka, with the desire to gather on the same occasion for many forthcoming years in health, happiness, peace and joy.
Banja Luka is a hearth of the whole Republic of Srpska, a modern and open city that is intensively developing in all fields and is becoming increasingly recognisable in the regional contexts as an economic, tourist, cultural, sports and educational centre.
May this holiday, with respect to our rich tradition and values on which it rests, be the guide to creating a better quality of life in the largest city of the Republic of Srpska”, said the President Cvijanović in a congratulatory note.
This holiday takes place 40 days after Orthodox Easter. Ascension Day is an important holiday for Banja Luka and big public celebration.
