Young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, mostly doctors and nurses, are leaving B&H and moving to Slovenia and Germany in search of a better life.

The Agency for Labour and Employment, said that in the past year, about 2,000 people left the country and moved to Slovenia, while about 300 sought work in Germany.

Young people are mostly opting to leave because they can’t find employment in B&H. Besides Germany, in 2013, professionals in the medical occupation were sought for in Austria, Qatar and Dubai.

Engineers are also seeking a better economic climate and moving to Qatar, Bahrain and Kazakhstan where construction and mechanical engineers are in demand.

The employment rate in B&H is close to a staggering 50%.
