Bijeljina Mayor Mićo Mićić and US Ambassador to BiH Eric Nelson visited Industrial Zone 2 in this city on Wednesday, in which the US Government invested BAM 350,000 out of a total of BAM 3,800,000.
Mićić said Nelson’s two-day visit was primarily organised to prove that the money his country gave to Bijeljina was invested.
“In the Industrial Zone, we need to create good infrastructure and a base for our businessmen to create new companies and jobs,” said Mićić after visiting the Industrial Zone 2 with Nelson.
He said he informed Nelson that the city had given 34 land plots and that a lot was invested in infrastructure.
It is particularly interesting that, out of BAM 3.800.000, which was the cost of the Industrial Zone 2, along with land, water and electricity, the US Government participated with BAM 350.000,” said Mićić.
Mićić believes the US delegation is pleased with what it has seen on the ground and what it has done to help entrepreneurs in Bijeljina.
“This is the only way we can help our entrepreneurs to start new businesses and jobs more easily,” Mićić said.
Nelson voiced satisfaction as he witnessed that US Government funds had been spent to build the road in Industrial Zone 2 in Bijeljina.
“This is a good example of the work and partnership of the US Government with local communities in BiH, which we are helping to develop,” Nelson said after a visit paid to the Industrial Zone 2.
Nelson added that he was interested in getting to know Bijeljina better and finding out how this city managed to gain a reputation as one of the cities with the most favorable business climate in Europe.
“I want to hear also how the United States can continue to help and partner with this city and the entire country,” Nelson said.
