Serb member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik said on Monday evening at a reception organized on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China that that country represented an indispensable factor of the global economy, but also of world politics and world peace.
“We are here to congratulate the Chinese president, the Chinese people and country on this really great jubilee, as they demonstrated the ability to transform a poor country into the second largest world economy. This is really impressive,” Dodik said.
He has said that maintaining the economic growth by China in the past few years impacts on maintaining the global economic growth rate.
“Had not been for the Chinese progress, the world would have certainly recorded negative growth rates,” Dodik said and wished China success and as good as possible economic development.
He thanked for all projects China implemented in Republika Srpska, noting that all the three projects the Chinese Ambassador mentioned were implemented in Republika Srpska.
“We are proud of it, and we want to continue cooperation with China in the “17 plus one” format of “Belt and Road” projects, and in this regard, we will continue contacts with Chinese companies and their authorities,” Dodik said.
The Serb member of the BiH Presidency on Monday evening attended a reception organized by the Chinese Ambassador to BiH, Ji Ping, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China.
The Chinese Ambassador to BiH, Ji Ping, said on Monday evening in Sarajevo that data showing that in the first half of the year more than 45,000 Chinese tourists visited BiH, which is by 99% more than in the same period last year, speak the best of the good relations between the two countries, by which China took the third place when it comes to arrivals of foreign tourists in BiH.
“The first thermal power plant built by a Chinese company is operational, a cornerstone was laid for a first hospital, and works on the construction of a first road will start soon. We will support BiH in a conference of ministers of transport “17 plus one” and a forum of mayors of capitals “17 plus one” with the aim of giving new momentum to the economic and social development of BiH,” Ji Ping said.
According to him, cultural exchange between BiH and China achieved satisfactory results, studying Chinese is increasingly more popular, a number of cultural delegations visited BiH, so that citizens have an opportunity to enjoy Chinese music, songs, dance, paintings, and movies.
At the reception, which was attended by Serb member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik and Republika Srpska President Željka Cvijanović, Ji Ping has said that it is not easy to achieve success in cooperation between two countries and that successes are a result of joint efforts of all sides.
He expressed gratitude to friends in BiH from all fields, and Chinese citizens, for efforts to improve bilateral relations.
“I believe that cooperation between China and BiH will certainly make our peoples and countries, that are geographically distant dozens of thousands of km, become closer,” said Ambassador Ji Ping.
He has said that in the past 70 years, his country has given a wonder to the world and that it has continued doing so.
“In the context of ever-growing protectionism and general slowing down of the world economy, the Chinese GDP growth rate in the first half of the year amounted to 6.3%, which speaks of a strong resistance of the Chinese economy and the fact that China has the ability and conviction that it, together with all countries that support globalization and multilateralism, including BiH, can respond to all pressures and challenges,” Ambassador Ji Ping said.
He has said that this Far East country significantly transformed itself thanks to the constant efforts by several generations of people.
The reception was also attended by Bosniak and Croatian representatives of BiH, representatives of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the political, social and economic life in Republika Srpska and the FBiH.
