Republika Srpska Prime Minister, Zeljka Cvijanovic, has opened the International Agricultural Fair “Interagro 2018” yesterday in Bijeljina, which gathered around 150 participants from Srpska and the surrounding area, saying that getting closer, joining and bonding in every field is necessary.

Cvijanovic has said that the Fair is very well organised and that she is satisfied with the number of visitors and exhibitors, whom she especially praised for their importance for establishing further business contacts, cooperation and search for new markets.

She particularly thanked President of the Provincial Government of Vojvodina, Igor Mirovic, for visiting this event.

“A colleague and friend, Mirovic, is with us today in Bijeljina. I see a great opportunity for Vojvodina and Semberija to do a lot of things together for mutual benefit. This definitely fits into our activities that we implement on a broader scale in cooperation with the Provincial Government and the Government of Serbia”, Cvijanovic told reporters.

She has emphasized that the Interagro Fair, for which Bijeljina is recognisable, deserves even greater importance as a place of good organisation and activity.

“For the next several years, there will be a motorway passing through Bijeljina to get to Serbia. At the moment, the motorway construction continues from Doboj, but a lot has been planned,” said Cvijanovic.

President of the Provincial Government of Vojvodina, Igor Mirovic, has said that the Government is committed to an agreement with the Government of Srpska, which is part of the overall relations between Republika Srpska and Serbia.

“We are committed to the creation in order to make better conditions for people in Srpska and Serbia and to witness concrete results of such bonding. This can be witnessed here at the Bijeljina Fair, which 20 companies from Vojvodina attend”, Mirovic has said.

Pointing out that the fair is a place for reaching an agreement, Mirovic says that an agreement has already been reached to hold a meeting with all the producers from Vojvodina, all companies with interests in Semberija, Republika Srpska and BiH, in mid-October.

“The goal of this meeting is to speak about priorities and conclusions of the talks we had with the heads of Srpska and Vojvodina chambers of commerce, and Srpska Prime Minister Zeljko Cvijanovic,” explained Mirovic, adding that it is necessary to improve economic contacts.

He has noted that Serbia has achieved significant results in the field of economy and opened the door to large markets.

“Only China’s market is open to everything that Serbia and Srpska can produce together, including agricultural and meat products, which is very important. That will be a pointer for economic development,” Mirovic has said.

He has noted that the Interagro Fair in Bijeljina is fast growing, with 17 years long tradition. “We are obliged to be here because of the overall relations with Republika Srpska – respect and fraternal solidarity,” Mirovic has emphasized.

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Republika Srpska, Stevo Mirjanic, heads of Srpska and Vojvodina Chamber of Commerce, Mayor of Bijeljina, Mico Micic, and numerous guests attended the opening of the Fair in Bijeljina.

The International Fair will end on September 22. Agricultural machinery valued at several tens of millions of BAMs will be exhibited at the Agrotrzni Centar /agrarian centre/, as well as quality cattle heads and a series of scientific-expert lectures in various fields of agro-business, said the organisers of the Fair , the Grad Company Bijeljina.

Free consumption of local and health food for visitors is planned during the second day of the Fair.

Partner of the fair is the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, and 20 leading Vojvodina companies from agrarian field will be presented at the “Interagro”.

The sponsors of the Fair are the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Srpska, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH and the City of Bijeljina.
