The event was attended by associations from Serbia, representatives of the Municipality of East New Sarajevo, the Government of the Republic of Srpska, the Russian Embassy in BiH and several dozen citizens.
Putting a memorial plaque to the deceased Russian ambassador to the UN in East New Sarajevo was organized by the Citizens’ Association “Eastern Alternative” with the support of the Russian Embassy in BiH and the Municipality of East New Sarajevo.
On February 20, Russian Ambassador to the UN Vitaly Churkin suddenly died of a heart attack in his workplace.
