Banjaluka honors its athletes

Swimmer Ivana Ninkovic and the now former Borac m:tel handball player Srdjan Trivundza were named the best athletes in Banjaluka in 2013 at the traditional 12th Sports Ball held in the capital of Srpska.

The ceremony was attended by numerous personalities from the political, social and sports life of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Banjaluka’s athlete Ivana Macanovic and Slavia’s boxer Sandro Poletan were named the most promising athletes in Banjaluka, while Biljana Nedic from the Basketball Disabled Club received the title of the overall most prominent athlete in sports for disabled people.

Handball Club Borac m:tel and the women’s basketball team Young Krajisnik were named the most successful sports clubs in Banjaluka, while the Lifetime Achievement Award was posthumously awarded to the former football player and Borac coach Ilija Miljus.

The most successful sporting event in the 2013 was the World Handball Championship for juniors.
