Minister of Finance and Treasury of BH Nikola Spiric, and the Director of the USAID Mission to BH David Burt, signed a memorandum of understanding on the development of cooperation between BH and the Government of the United States for the period of 2012 – 2016.
The BH Minister of Finance stated that the memorandum provides a legal framework which regulates relations between USAID and its partners in BH and makes sure that resources from planned projects are aimed at developing a competitive and market-oriented economy, reads a press release from the Ministry of Finance and Treasury.
Director of the USAID Mission in BH, David Burt, said that the memorandum of understanding marks the beginning of new relations between USA and BH.
He added that such a partnership will represent a challenge for the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina as they will have to establish a reliable, transparent and efficient system, with the effective use of donated funds.
