B&H holds the record in the region in the number of registered political parties. It is currently impossible to predict how many of them will be around for the general elections scheduled for October this year as parties are continuously seizing to exist while new ones are being established.
The Central Election Commission confirmed that in B&H there are, on paper, 183 political parties, while 77 parties were erased from the courts register since the 2010 elections.
According to available information, Croatia is right behind B&H with 122 political parties, Serbia with 90, Macedonia with 53, Montenegro with 45, while Slovenia has only 30 political parties.
