PDP Leader, Branislav Borenovic, last night in Belgrade said that the decision of the Appellate Panel of the BiH Court to reject the appeal of the Republika Srpska Referendum Commission to the decision of the CEC BiH not to provide the voter registers is absolutely not surprising and said that this is a technical issue which will be resolved and the referendum on Republika Srpska Day will be held.
Borenovic told SRNA that the Republika Srpska Referendum Commission knew what response would follow, thus it now needs to work on creating the technical preconditions to provide the voter registers.
“As for us, the political structures, we have tasked the Commission to do it and we expect that the lists are ready, and that we will be fully ready to participate in the referendum, and, in accordance with the voter registers, declare our position on Republika Srpska Day,” said Borenovic.
According to him, responding to the referendum is unquestionable, and the decision of the Republika Srpska National Assembly to hold a referendum must be respected.
“I voted for it in the National Assembly of Repubika Srpska. For me, this is the decision that must be respected. This is a process, the position of the Republika Srpska National Assembly and there is no room for politicking. The referendum obliges all of us to fully conduct it”, emphasized Borenovic.
He has added that anyone who thought to make some kind of politicization by the referendum decision was very wrong.
The Appellate Panel of the Court of BiH rejected today as inadmissible the appeal of the Commission for the Republika Srpska Day Referendum to the decision of the Central Election Commission of BiH, which rejected the application for the Central Voters Register for the referendum in Srpska.
The referendum on Republika Srpska Day is scheduled for September 25.
