The traditional humanitarian action “With Love to Brave Hearts”, sponsored by the institution of the President of Republika Srpska, is marking a small anniversary this year. The action is being held for the tenth time this year, and the money raised by the end of December is intended for the construction and equipping of two daycare centers for children with disabilities, in Banja Luka and Trebinje.
As a result of this action in previous years, we have built certain facilities, such as the Parental House for Cancer Children, and this year we are creating daycare centers in Trebinje and Banja Luka. We decided to take the initiative on the initiative of the association, in order to provide children with disabilities with adequate accommodation while their parents complete other responsibilities. During this time, the children are safe, receiving adequate help, socializing and socialization – said Republika Srpska President Željka Cvijanović, the sponsor of this year’s action.
Nine donor nights “With Love to Brave Hearts” were held under the auspices of the President of Srpska Institution.
This tradition was founded by Milorad Dodik in 2010 when he was first elected President of Republika Srpska.
At that time, the budget of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic was significantly increased.
The first donor evening, “With a Brave Heart of Love,” dedicated to children suffering from malignancies, followed by actions for children with disabilities, children with diabetes 1, and children with autism.
In December 2014, money was raised for the construction of a Parental Home for Cancer Children to stay with their parents near the University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska, but still outside the hospital setting, during long and difficult therapies.
In 2015, contributions were collected for children suffering from rare genetic diseases, and in December 2016, KM 1.3 million was collected for the construction of the Center for the Prevention of Developmental Disabilities “For Mother and Child”.
Two years ago, the action was dedicated to raising initial funds to establish a Solidarity Fund for the treatment of children from Republika Srpska abroad. Thanks to this fund, more than 150 children from Srpska have received the most expensive and most effective treatments in the most prestigious clinics in the world.
Last year, “With Love to Brave Hearts” raised money to buy a robot-assisted rehabilitation system for children who have movement problems due to cerebral palsy or other disabilities. Kids from all over Srpska, who use this system at the Rehabilitation Institute “Dr. Miroslav Zotovic” in Banja Luka, are delighted with it and have called it “magic robot” or “Čika Gvozden”.
So far, therefore, more than eight million KM have been raised for the needs of seriously ill children or children with disabilities, and in all these years, the citizens of Republika Srpska have been the largest donor.
Namely, every year in December, during the campaign “With Love to Brave Hearts”, there were between 70,000 and almost 90,000 calls to the humane number, which gave citizens as many stamps.
Also, the citizens were donors in an indirect way, since most of the donations came from the budget of Srpska, as a contribution from the Cabinet of the President of Srpska or the Government of Srpska, and certain local communities.
