The conference “Civil Society As a Factor of Change in B&H” to be held in Vienna from 8th to 10th September will gather more than 100 experts from B&H and Europe to discuss the role and the potential of the civil society.
The conference is organized by the Human rights Institute Ludwig Boltzmann and the Karl Renner Institute in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Ministry for Europe, foreign affairs and integrations (BMeIA), the special EU representative in B&H, Erste Foundation, Central Europe Initiative (CEI), the UK Embassy in Vienna and others.
The objective of this initiative is to support the fragmented civil society in B&H through exchange and interaction platform in order for the people to discuss future common goals and approaches to a life founded on democracy, rule of law and human rights.
The initiative is inspired by the protests held in 2014 in B&H, by this sign of deep discontent of the people, their justified worrying.
The organizers hope that the initiative could offer a chance to various actors of civil society from across B&H to get together and exchange ideas with Austrian, regional and international partners and members of the academic community in order to elaborate common practical approaches as a support to the sustainable development of the civil society in B&H. – was announced.
