The construction of the hydro-power plant “Bocac 2” on the Vrbas River is expected to be realized in the second half of this year. Works worth around 40 million KM will be financed by “Hidroelektrane na Vrbasu”/Hydroelectric power-plants Vrbas.
The director of these power-plants, Nedeljko Kesic, said that this facility will be built on the existing hydroelectric dam within “Bocac”. It’s installed capacity will be ten megawatts and will hence have the status of a mini-hydro power plant.
The preparation of the detailed design and selection of hydro and electro-mechanical equipment is currently taking place, after this a public tender will be called for the construction of works. If all goes according to plan HE “Bocac 2” should begin operating by the end of 2016.
