At a meeting yesterday with US Senators, the Serb member and Chairperson of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, has pointed out that a joint priority of all nations in BiH is to preserve peace and stability and that there is a desire for economic progress and cooperation.
Cvijanović has said that she had a good, constructive meeting with members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US Senate and that the fact that it lasted longer than expected shows a mutual interest in discussion and explaining certain things to each other.
“I am grateful to Mrs. Jeanne Shaheen and other Senators who show constant concern and understanding for what is happening in BiH and want to be helpful. This was an opportunity to talk about economic topics, they were interested in where our agreements and disagreements were,” said Cvijanović.
She added that she had the opportunity to inform her hosts about the issues of jobs, salary increases, pensions, and social welfare.
Cvijanović has said that she is satisfied with the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina has received candidate status, as well as that she understands that this is not the result of excessive measures and activities in the previous period, but rather the result of geostrategic realignment in the world.
There was also talk about the NATO path, where Cvijanović expressed her position that everyone wants good cooperation with that military alliance, but that in terms of membership, there is no determination for this to happen, for reasons known to Republika Srpska.
