Danijel Miljatović, a sixth-grader at Branko Copić Elementary School in Donji Agić near Novi Grad, wrote the best literary work on the competition of the Republican Pedagogical Institute on the occasion of Republic Day.
Miljatović dedicated the poem to Srpska and won first place in the competition among 291 literary works from 103 elementary schools.
Miljatović, who wanted to say that he should stay and live in the Republic of Srpska, not to leave the homeland, said he expected the work to be noticed, but did not expect to win first place.
-The Republic of Srpska means everything to me and I would like to spend my life here – said Miljatovic.
He added that he loved and wrote poems from a young age, and that the Pedagogical Institute competition was a good opportunity for him to present himself.
The award will be presented to Miljatovic on Saturday, January 11th in Vlasenica, and yesterday he received special municipal recognition at the ceremonial academy in Novi Grad on the occasion of the Republic Day.
