The President of Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik called on the opposition to create, together with the ruling parties, a new decision regarding a referendum on the work of the Prosecutor’s Office and Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Dodik said it was important to reach a consensus on the issue because the Srpska opposition makes up State-level government.
“A referendum is a holy right of Republika Srpska which Srpska will keep fighting for and will reach a position to be able to hold it on any issue important for its survival,” Dodik stated addressing the National Assembly on Monday where the MPs will vote on the proposal of a decision to revoke the Decision on conducting referendum on the work of the Prosecutor’s Office and Court of BiH.
He recalled that he had shared a clear and unambiguous view about the matter for years, and noted that Republika Srpska had the right under the Constitution to decide on the matters in its interest.
“No one should ever make decisions on behalf of Republika Srpska. We should finally mount a political struggle that includes using all instruments provided by contemporary political practice,” said Dodik.
