The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that he believes in the independence of Srpska and believes that it will have to happen one day.
Dodik said that he could be responsible for that in some perspective.
“When Donald Trump won in America, I had the intention to declare the independence of Republika Srpska, and then some around me got scared and I didn’t do it. I have to say that today I regret that I didn’t. But if Trump won again, I think that I wouldn’t hesitate,” said Dodik for TV “Prva”.
When it comes to American sanctions on him and his family, Dodik said that it is more helplessness, and that he has no right to sacrifice the national interests of Republika Srpska for the sake of his convenience.
He pointed out that he is proud of his family, adding that they are very aware and responsible people and that they stand up for themselves in life, and that this bothers Americans.
The President of Srpska added that he is an elected official and that he has the right to choose how he pursues politics.
“The key issue surrounding me is no longer crime, now everything has come down to rhetoric, that bothers them and that is disastrous for them,” added Dodik.
Speaking about the relationship between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dodik said that the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina is relevant for Serbia, and not one third of that presidency, which consists of Denis Bećirović, who, as he stated, is a quasi-historian and hates everything Serbian, tells lies, but has no potential to do anything.
