The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik has said that he and the President of the Republika Srpska Željka Cvijanović at a meeting in Belgrade on Saturday evening invited Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to visit Banja Luka and Republika Srpska.

Dodik has said that Medvedev wanted to come because he had never been to Banja Luka.

“It remains to work on this issue”, Dodik told reporters in Belgrade on Saturday evening, adding that it would be glad for the people in Srpska if that happened.

He has said that the meeting held on Saturday evening with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation was friendly and very important from the point of view of Republika Srpska.

Dodik has said that Russia and Republika Srpska have continued good economic and political co-operation.

The Serb member of the BiH Presidency has emphasized that it is very important for the Russian Federation to understand the situation in BiH and to explain, through the Ambassador of the Russia Federation in the UN Councile of Security, the complete situation from the standpoint of facts and not from the point of view of speculations, as is often done by the High Representative in BiH.

“It was a topic of discussion, of course, since a Security Council meeting on BiH will be held in early November. It is very important that we keep the Russian Federation’s attention on this matter”, Dodik said.

Dodik says he informed the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation that a year after the elections, the authority at the BiH was not formed, and that Bosniaks had found a reason to raise the issue of NATO membership before any possibility of forming the authority institutions.

He has stated that the meeting discussed major issues such as the pipeline and the operation of the refinery.

“There is absolutely speculation that the refinery, and ‘Nestro’, is not working. They will continue to work. They will adjust their business policy to the circumstances”, Dodik said.

According to him, the most important thing is that jobs will be retained and that the volume of work within “Nestro” will be preserved and enhanced.

The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik has said that Russia wants to construct a pipeline and be present in the space of the Republika Srpska.

Dodik, who spoke with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in Belgrade, has said the Russians have an interest in distributing their energy, which is very rich, to consumers around the world who they believe could be their consumers.

“Their interest is clear, in this respect. They want to build a gas pipeline and from the aspect of energy sources they want to be present in this area”, Dodik told Republika Srpska Radio Television.

He has added that it is not appropriate for someone, and that it is known that Americans want to sell the LNG gas from America, but he said that it is the relations of big ones that have their own interests.

“We need to choose here which is cheaper and safer for us in the long term”, Dodik said.

Dodik has pointed out that the meeting with the Russian Prime Minister was in friendly conversation, as well as that they talked about Russia’s position.

According to him, Russia stabilized after the sanctions, which is definitely clear to all, including those in the west. “But, Russia has no aggressive policies, neither the regional nor on any other plan”, Dodik said.

Dodik has said that Medvedev is aware that there is not the authority at the BiH level, and that the reasons are known, first of all, the National Action Plan.

Dodik and the President of the Republika Srpska Željka Cvijanović spoke yesterday with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, who has arrived in Belgrade at the ceremony of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the city.
