Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik has said that he will not attend the inauguration of the US President-elect, Donald Trump, and that there will be another opportunity for a visit to the US.
Dodik has told reporters in Trn near Laktasi that the situation escalated at the moment when some officials of the old US administration saw his name among the names of persons invited to attend the inauguration of the US President-elect, Donald Trump.
He has said that the old American administration tried to prevent his entry into the US, stressing that he did not want to trade in the interests of Republika Srpska.
“I was asked to give up the initiative in connection with the BiH Constitution, to stop activities in connection with a law on the BiH Constitutional Court and to distance myself from the politics of the SNSD, which I refused,” Dodik has said.
The Republika Srpska President has said that he believes that the present US Ambassador to BiH will leave BiH very soon, after which conditions will be created for him to get a visa for the US.
Asked if he considered applying for a visa with the Serbian passport, Dodik has said that he certainly will not use a BiH passport in the coming period, that he will renounce it publicly and concluded that he has a Serbian passport which he will use.
