Republika Srpska will continue to work on the project “South Stream”, said the President of Srpska Milorad Dodik.
“We are not an EU member and will continue to work on the South Stream, the rest is a matter of the EU”, said Dodik.
Bilateral agreements on the construction of the gas pipeline “South Stream”, which Russia has signed with Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia and Austria, are in violation of EU law and they need to be negotiate over, said the European Commission.
Director of the energy market in the European Commission, Klaus-Dieter Borhert, told the European Parliament that such agreements are not compatible with EU law.
He added that the above mentioned states were told that they are required to renegotiate with Russia and coordinate intergovernmental agreements with EU law.
