Dragoslav Mihailovic and Jahina Guzelj are this year’s winners of the literary “Ivo Andric Grand Prize” of the Andric Institute in Andricgrad.
The award for life, literary creativity, which represents the total contribution to literature and culture, was won by Mihailović, and Guzelj’s for the best book “Children of the Volga” published during the year, was announced at a press conference by the celebrated Serbian director Emir Kusturica. Jovan Delić, writer Muharem Bazdulj and literary critic Želidrag Nikčević.
In 2015, the Andric Institute in Andricgrad established the “Ivo Andric Grand Prize”, which has traditionally been presented on January 27 to Savindan.
The Andric Institute in Andricgrad, headed by the renowned world director Emir Kusturica, was founded on June 28, 2013.
It is a unique institution of culture, science and education, which by its work unites efforts of the Republic of Srpska and the Republic of Serbia to achieve significant results in these fields.
It achieves its scientific results in the field of social sciences and humanities through the work of four departments – Literature, Serbian, History and the Departments of Film and Media.
