Contributions made to the government by an employee in Bosnia and Herzegovina are among the highest in the world, namely B&H is in 19th place out of a 114 countries surveyed by the global audit networks KPMG.
Every employee in B&H pays 31 percent of his/her income in tax revenue. If we take last year’s average salary, which was about 830 KM, the contributions amount to approximately 260 km.
When 41.5% is added to this figure, amount paid by the employer, we reach incredible numbers. For comparison, in Croatia an employee pays 19.5% and in Serbia only seven percent in contributions.
Out of a 114 countries surveyed, the minimum contribution rate is in Spain, 3.3 %.
