For the first time in the history of the Gazprom International Children’s Social Programme Football for Friendship, the final of the Football for Friendship World Championship will be broadcasted live. Young players ages 12 will participate in the competition that will take place in Madrid on May 31 and June 1.
The broadcast will be available on the official F4F YouTube channel, and in the F4F mobile app in the F4F Video Channel.
On May 31, the viewers will see the Qualification Games, Playoffs, Quarter- and Semifinal, as well as witness a football session with the most nationalities in the world claiming GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® title. On June 1, there will be a broadcast of the final game and the award ceremony of the Football for Friendship World Champions on the UEFA Pitch in the very heart of Madrid – Plaza Mayor. The final events will be attended by the Global Ambassador of Football for Friendship Franz Beckenbauer, CEO of the Soccer Barcelona Youth Academy Miquel Piug, legendary footballers Andrei Arshavin, Aleksei Smertin, Anatoli Timoshchuk, as well as UEFA Ambassadors Célia Šašić and Ricardo Carvalho.
Viewers from all over the world can use the live broadcast to become witness of the main competition of the Seventh Season of the programme. Girls and boys from different countries will unite into 32 International Teams of Friendship to play in Final in the main square of the Spanish capital.
The lineups of the International Teams were traditionally decided through the Open Draw. Each team unites girls and boys from different nationalities and of different physical abilities. Young Coaches will help the players to prepare for the Championship.
Within the framework of the ecological initiative of the Football for Friendship programme, all International Teams are named after endangered animals: Oriental Stork, Amsterdam Albatross, Snow Leopard, Chinchilla, Red Panda, European Mink, Tasmanian Devil, Asian Elephant, Fossa, Philippine Crocodile, Sunda Pangolin, Tatu-Canastra, and others.
The Seventh season will end with the participants of the final events attending the 2019 UEFA Champions League Final on the Metropolitano Stadium on June 1 in Madrid.
