– Deputies of ruling and opposition parties in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska and members of the Committee on Economy agree that the announced realization of the project of Srpska‘s gasification should enable to Srpska the economic development.

President of the National Assembly’s Committee for Economy Maksim Skoko, who is the deputy of the SP, has told Srna that the gasification of Srpska, besides economic development, also increases its energy stability.

“Natural gas as an energy-generating product is not sufficiently represented in Srpska. When bring the gas, besides the industry, it will have households, which will also enable us to invest in energy facilities whose production would be based on natural gas”, Skoko explained.

The Head of the PDP Caucus head Perica Bundalo has estimated that gasification will undoubtedly mean a lot for the economic development of Srpska, because the gas is a cheap, secure, stable and economically acceptable raw material.

“I believe that this is a serious story and that the project of Srpska‘s gasification will be realized. Every help to the economy is welcome considering what kind of situation it is”, Bundalo said.

He noted that cheaper energy-generating product also allows progress in the plan of increasing the effects of production, which contributes to overall economic development and new employment.

National Assembly’s Committee member Nedeljko Ćorić, who is a deputy of the SNSD, has told Srna that Srpska gets a new dimension in terms of the development of the economy, its competitiveness and the like by the implementation of the gasification project.

“This implies the arrival of some new investors and the creation of new jobs”, Ćorić estimated..

He has said that he is certain that the project of Srpska‘s gasification will be supported by all relevant subjects at the BiH level, because it does not only bring positive effects to Srpska.

“We expect that all levels of BiH will understand the value and importance of this project, and give it maximum support, even if we live in a complicated community, such as BiH”, Ćorić said.

The member of the National Assembly’s Committee for Economy Milan Petković has said that gas has proved to be one of the most cost-effective and cheapest energy sources in the field of economy and industry.

“Gas bringing will surely bring security and competitiveness to the economy”, said Petković, who is a Deputy of the United Srpska and Vice President of the National Assembly.

The Chairman of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik and the President of the Republika Srpska Željka Cvijanović agreed the gasification of the Republika Srpska in a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of “Gazprom” Alexey Miller in Saint Petersburg on Saturday.

“Gazprom” should provide 300 million euros for the construction of gas pipelines with stations which need to increase pressure and enable quality gas delivery.

The gas-pipe should go from Bijeljina to Banja Luka and Prijedor, and there is a possibility to continue to Croatia or the Federation of BiH, if there is an interest in it.

Concrete talks with the representatives of “Gazprom” about the gasification of Srpska should begin at the end of the year.
