GDP growth in Republika Srpska twenty quarters in a row

The Republic of Srpska has for the last 20 consecutive quarters recorded a growth of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In 2018, nominal GDP amounted to BAM 10.68 billion which represents a real growth of 3.9% compared to 2017 and compared to 2014 it is a 20.2% growth.

According to the data of the RS Bureau of Statistics, the index of industrial production in the period January-December 2018 compared to the same period of 2017 increased by 3.6%. In the period 2014-2018, industrial production had a growth trend ranging from 0.6% in 2014 up to 8.1% in 2016 which was the highest rate of growth.

Foreign trade of the Republic of Srpska grew constantly from 2014 to 2018 so that in 2018 it reached BAM 8.9 billion what is 17.3% more than in 2014. Exports amounted to BAM 3.7 billion and the import amounted to BAM 5.2 billion. In 2018, the export-import coverage ratio  was 71.7% and increased by 17.3 percentage points compared to 2014 and by as much as 33.4 percentage points compared to 2005.

The employment in Republic of Srpska had a growing trend in 2014-2018. In 2018, the highest number of people employed of 266,309 was recorded what is 51,334 or 24% more than in 2014.
