The oldest person in Bosnia and Herzegovina lives in Canton Sarajevo and has 114 years, while in our country there are a total of 752 people who have a hundred and more years.
From the Agency for Identification Documents, Records and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA), we find that in our country there are many more women who have a hundred and more years.
“Of the total number of centenarians, there are 214 men and 538 women,” said IDDEEA.
Most of the hundred-year-olds live in Mostar, 46 of them, 13 men and 33 women.
Until two months ago, 769 people aged over a hundred years lived in BiH, when the number of women who were over 100 years old and more were twice as high.
Otherwise, as we learn, the oldest person in BiH is a man born on September 25, 1904, who lives in the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo.
The oldest person in the world is 115-year-old Kane Tanaka. It is believed that the longest person in the world to date was Jeanne Calment, a Frenchman who lived for 122 years and 164 days. The most humble man in history is Japan’s Jiroemon Kimura, who lived 116 years and 54 days.
