The Manjača Tourist and Recreation Complex will be in operation for citizens, guests and tourists from spring, who will be able to enjoy nature, Draško Ilić, director of the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development.
The project “Manjača as a tourist and recreational complex” is the result of the cooperation of the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development with the Tourist Organization of the City and the City Development Agency (CIDEA).
Ilić pointed out that 23 partners have already been involved in this project, ranging from citizens’ associations, local associations in the area of Zmijani to city authorities and institutions.
“A lot of work has been done, and more is being done. After the action of cleaning the lake and its surroundings, which we will do in the spring, and which we did last year, we can say that it is open to everyone,” Ilić said.
On the Manjača Plateau, it is planned to build cottages, hotels, sports fields, and other facilities, in order to use the space for the development of the whole region. There are large and small lakes and several sinkholes in this area, and it is full of meadows and trails.
“We have built a large cold room that can accommodate 200 people, which can be accommodated here for the living room. We have received funding from UNDP to build another one, and we have started construction of a third one, so it will be able to do so on a daily basis. to accommodate 600 people, ” Ilić explained.
According to him, the most important goals of the project are the protection of natural resources and the improvement of existing infrastructure.
“We have completed the construction of pecans and grills, and together with partners in this business we have developed several projects for which we have applied to the City Administration, the RS Government and international organizations,” said Ilić.
He added that they received containers from the RS government that they plan to convert to pre-fabricated bungalows, ie accommodation capacities so that guests can stay for several days.
“It is an auto camp project, one of the ideas is to set up ‘Capriolo’ bikes for mountain riding, and the idea was to create a small center near the lake with several beach bars,” said Ilić.
Irena Radojevic, Director of TOBL, said that this project is unique and innovative and that she expects the development of modern tourist facilities in the Manjača area.
“This will also improve and expand the tourist offer, as Manjača is only 22 kilometers from the city center. An excellent location and excursion would not only welcome guests and tourists, but also citizens who will not have to go to Zlatibor, Kopaonik or Jahorina, but they will have it all near their houses and the city, Radojević said.
She pointed out that this tourist complex will provide them with content from adrenaline, adventure, and sports to excursion tourism and enjoyment of nature.
