The President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik met yesterday in Banja Luka with the Head of the European Union Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Johann Sattler.
The President Dodik pointed out that Srpska wants to be visible on the European path of BiH in accordance with the coordination mechanism and with full respect for its constitutional position, as well as the Dayton structure of BiH.
The President of the Republic reiterated that 14 key priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission should be resolved together, not separately, and announced that BiH is a negotiating party on the way to the EU.
The President Dodik told the Ambassador Sattler that he expected the agreement of the joint level on the resolution and unblocking of many important strategic projects in the near future, and that Srpska will not tolerate further blocking of projects.
Referring to the Ambassador Sattler’s greeting on the occasion of March 1 “to all citizens”, the President of the Republic said that March 1 can be a holiday of the Bosniak people and that Srpska should not thus be a dispute, and added that March 1 is not and cannot be a joint holiday in BiH.
The President of Srpska pointed out that there is no law prescribing March 1 as a holiday in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that that date was a prelude to a civil war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Srpska can never celebrate it.
