The Ministry of Finance of Republika Srpska have told Srna they do not oppose an International Monetary Fund analysis which will definitely show that the stand-by arrangement with the financial institution is not jeopardised in any way nor will it be jeopardised by the laws aiming to increase incomes in Republika Srpska.
“The salaries the Government has planned for the public sector remain at the last year’s level, while the change in the procedure of salary calculation was defined earlier in a supplementary Letter of Intent to the IMF,” said the Ministry.
When asked by Srna whether the Government received a letter regarding a possible cancellation of the last IMF tranche for Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry said it had been notified through the Office of the IMF Resident Representative that a meeting of the IMF Executive Board which was supposed to close the review and approve the next tranche had been postponed in order to review the set of laws adopted by the Srpska Government to increase incomes in the real and public sectors and due to a decision of the Federation of BiH Government to increase the budget by BAM14 million by way of the Law on the Rights of Veterans in the Entity.
The Srpska Ministry of Finance pointed out that it would keep defining the measures that would improve the living standard of all parts of society, respecting the policies with international financial institutions.
