In the last two years, 583, 000 KM has been invested into the National Park “Sutjeska”. This is part of a project supported by the Ministry of Physical Planning, Civil Engineering and Ecology of the Republika Srpska and international donors.
Among other things, funds were invested in equipment for the reduction of poaching and in the promotion of tourism.
Furthermore, in 2010 the Law on the National Park “Sutjeska” banned the parks deforestation in order to preserve its nature. Since deforestation had, until then, been the biggest source of revenue, in order to continue the smooth operation of this National Park, the Ministry now co-finances the missing funds.
Financing of the National Parks “Kozara” and “Sutjeska” through grant funds will be continued in 2014. 1, 840, 000 KM has been allocated under this budget heading.
