President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik and the majority shareholder of the Swisslion concert Rodoljub Drašković officially opened a new plant of the food industry in Nevesinje, which will employ more than 100 workers by the end of the year.
Dodik has thanked Drašković for investing several millions in the implementation of this project which will mean a lot to this undeveloped municipality, and added that the institutions of Srpska would always support this and similar companies. He pointed out that Herzegovina, besides energy, was becoming a strategic area for development of the food industry.
Drašković reminded that Swisslion Trebinje invested about seven million euros of its own funds in the entire project, and expressed satisfaction that the plant started to work within the planned period of eight months and that a large number of citizens from Nevesinje with find work in this factory.
He announced that in a month the realization of one of the biggest projects in the food industry in recent years would start – the construction of a new factory Swisslion Trebinje 2, in which dozens of millions of euros will be invested, which will create conditions for several hundred additional jobs.
This project in Nevesinje included reconstruction of the hall, purchase of modern equipment and other necessary works. From the new lines carton juices, nectars, fruit drinks and alcohol will be marketed, with the company’s well-known brands – pear, quince and apricot, as well as and mayonnaise, ketchup, jam and marmalade.
Experts from the town, who will monitor the production process, will work with the newly hired workers, some of whom were trained in Milanovac.
