According to the Register of Agricultural Holdings, 309 784 hectares of land are registers in Republika Srpska, of which 241 962 ha is used for production.
The percentage of raw land in Republika Srpska has reached 41 percent, while the situation at the state level is even worse with only half of the agricultural land being processed.
According to the spokesman for the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Bojan Kecman, the objective of the Agricultural Development Strategy is for 90% of agricultural land to be utilized which would increase the GDP by 230 million KM.
He added that the ministry’s next move will be to develop a program of continuous control of soil fertility in registered farms which should lead to the increase in quality and quantity of vegetation.
