Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Zeljka Cvijanovic attended the ceremony organized in Banski Dvor Cultural Center on the occasion of marking the 40th anniversary of the Faculty of Medicine in Banja Luka.
Prime Minister Cvijanovic emphasized that it was extremely important for the Republic of Srpska to have a prestigious Faculty of Medicine.
“During all those years, the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Banja Luka has managed to deal with various challenges but also to train the academic staff that is now highly appreciated. The Government of the Republic of Srpska has adopted many good and relevant regulations with regard to the health system and made great efforts to improve the infrastructure”, the Prime Minister said and commended the high quality of education of medical staff performed at the Faculty of Medicine which should be appraised for that.
President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik pointed out that the reputation of the University of Banja Luka rested largely on the reputation of the Faculty of Medicine in Banja Luka which has all main capacities and preconditions to grow and strengthen in the future.
“This prestigious institution has all prerequisites for expansion and improvement. It is our intention to build the new premises of the Faculty of Medicine at the location of the University-Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska”, President Dodik said.
The official ceremony was attended by representatives of other faculties of medicines in the countries of the former Yugoslavia, Government Ministers and many other officials and guests.
