Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Radovan Višković spoke yesterday with Xiaoqing Yu, Regional Director of the World Bank for the Western Balkans.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Višković expressed his gratitude to the World Bank for the projects implemented in Republic of Srpska and at the same time called for faster implementation of ongoing projects, especially those related to health sector reform.
Prime Minister Višković underlined the importance of implementing this project worth 36 million euros which foresees assistance in facilitating local health centers in transition to a treasury system of operations.
The Prime Minister conveyed the Government’s readiness to continue with implementation of the project aimed to improve efficiency in agriculture worth 26.5 million euros and emphasized that one of the priorities was reconstruction of roads worth 100 million euros.
On the other hand, the Director of the World Bank conveyed the readiness of this institution to participate in financing of this project which inter alia includes reconstruction of the Foča – Šćepan Polje Road up to the border with Montenegro.
Furthermore, representatives of the World Bank pointed out that implementation of the previously contracted new employment support project worth 14 million euros was expected to begin soon.
Christopher Sheldon, World Bank Country Manager for BiH and Montenegro, Minister of Finance Zora Vidović and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Savo Minić of Republic of Srpska were in attendance of today’s meeting as well.
