The Director of the Economic Division of USAID in B&H, Thomas Rojas, and the Mayor of Srebrenica, Camil Durakovic, announced the completion of a joint project “Increasing energy efficiency of street lighting in Srebrenica”.
The project is worth 80,730 KM, half of which was provided by the municipality. Within the project, a 100 old mercury bulbs in four streets in Srebrenica were replaced by new energy-saving LED bulbs that achieve savings of around 70%.
Rojac said he expects that the pilot project of energy efficiency will be welcomed by other cities in B&H. He added that USAID plans to invest 4.5 million dollars in future promotions of energy efficiency technologies in B&H.
