The BiH Council of Ministers in a caretaking capacity on Wednesday held a telephone session and adopted a proposed agreement on an EBRD grant in the amount of EUR 12.9 million for the construction of Corridor 5C in Republika Srpska – part one.
It was concluded that the BiH Ministry of Finance and Treasury in a caretaking capacity forward the agreement to the BiH Presidency for consideration, and it was proposed that the caretaker BiH minister of finance and treasury be tasked with signing the agreement.
The EUR 12.9 million grant will be allocated to Republika Srpska – the Autoputevi Republike Srpske public company for the financing of the construction of junctions on the highway in Johovac /Tovira/ and Rudanka /Kostajnica/ and a 6.1 km long section of the highway between these junctions, and the construction of an access road to the main road, including the bridge over the River Bosna, says a press release from the Council of Ministers.
For the sake of implementation of the project, the EBRD concluded a loan agreement worth EUR 70 million with the Autoputevi Republike Srpske public company as a loan recipient, that is, a project entity, on December 27, 2017.
Based on the concluded loan agreement, the EBRD concluded a guarantee agreement with BiH as a grant recipient on January 5, 2018.
At the proposal of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, the BiH Council of Ministers in a caretaking capacity made a decision on establishing an energy management system and energy efficiency information system in BiH institutions.
The system of energy management and energy efficiency information system in BiH institutions have been established and obligations of principal bodies in charge of energy management have been stipulated by the decision for the sake of enabling the management of energy, costs and emissions in connection with the energy and water consumptions, and reporting on consumption and savings.
The BiH Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations and the Service for Joint Affairs of the BiH Institutions are tasked with submitting once a year to the Council of Ministers a report on effects of the energy management system and energy efficiency information system in BiH institutions and with giving recommendations for improving the system.
The Council of Ministers at its telephone session on Wednesday adopted proposed amendments and supplements to the framework agreement regulating activities of the European Investment Bank /EIB/ in BiH, signed on December 17 and December 27, 2007.
The proposed amendments and supplements do not contain any amount of debt but regulate additional activities of the EIB in BiH.
The Council of Ministers also gave its approval to a voluntary BiH report on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which will be presented by the caretaker Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers, Denis Zvizdić, at a high-level political forum in the UN that will be held on July 8-19 in New York.
