Initiatives announced last week by the EU Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Fule were presented as an additional mechanism to assist B&H in the integration process, focusing especially on economic governance, said the Director of the Directorate for European Integration, Nevenka Savic.
She however added that it wasn’t adumbrated how they will change the current conditions for B&H’s progress in the EU integration process, which are the implementation of the decision of the European Court of Human Rights in the Sejdic and Finci matter and the establishment of an effective coordination mechanism.
According to her, Fule in a meeting with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers B&H and entity PM’s announced the formation of working groups in the context of pre-accession assistance, which would work towards using future IPA funds to solve socio-economic challenges.
Savic noted that a meeting should be held in London today, in favor of supporting economic and social policy in the region, between representative of EBRD and the European Commission and the theme of discussion will be the initiative on the program of economic management. As announced by Fule, B&H should be involved in this process from the beginning.
This initiative is intended to link the priorities of a country, in the field of economic and social development, to the use of pre-accession assistance and the priorities of the international financial institution, explained Savic.
