The second meeting of the Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security between the EU and BiH is held yesterday and today, 30 November and 1 December 2017, in Brussels.
The delegation of the Republic of Srpska at the Subcommittee meeting consists of representatives of the Ministry of Economic Relations and Regional Cooperation, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of the Interior, Free Legal Aid Centre of the Republic of Srpska, Gender Centre of the Government of the Republic of Srpska and Commission for Determining Conflict of Interest in the Authorities of the Republic of Srpska.
In accordance with the agenda and prepared discussion paper, representatives of the competent institutions in BiH are discussing with representatives of the European Commission the progress achieved during the past year in fulfilling the obligations arising from the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the EU and BiH concerning the areas: functioning of the judiciary, judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters, fight against money laundering, implementation of BiH War Crimes Processing Strategy, fight against corruption and organised crime, cooperation on law enforcement, cooperation in the field of drugs, fight against terrorism, border management, visa liberalisation, fundamental rights, prohibition of discrimination, women’s rights, gender equality, free legal aid, freedom of expression, etc.
The Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security between the EU and BiH is one of the seven joint working bodies of the EU and BiH, established to monitor the implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the EU and BiH, after it entered into force on 1 June 2015.
