Prima donna Jadranka Jovanović was awarded a special international award for the 2019 operetta at the Rosetta Theater in Trieste, accompanied by the FVG Orchestra, under the direction of maestro Romolo Gesi.
The award, presented by the Friuli Venezia Giulia International Opera Association in northern Italy, to the Serbian diva on December 28, 2019, was handed by Italian opera artist of world scale, Daniela Barcellona and soprano Daniela Mazzucato.
– It is a great honor for me to present this significant award to Jadranka in my hometown. Thank you for achieving so much in the art, for giving so much to the art and for continuing to give us so much, ” Barcellona said, handing out awards.
President of the International Operetta Association Marisa Lorenzon Palini said during the awards ceremony that this year the award is not only given to a brilliant artist with a remarkable international career but also a special personality characterized by great warmth and kindness in communication and a nurturing human relationship, representing her country to the most beautiful possible way.
– Thank you my dear Trieste, thanks to Italy who first opened the door for me, thank the jury who rewarded me, all my colleagues on stage, the orchestra, the audience who filled the Rosetta Hall across the last place and thank my Serbs who came here tonight to support me – said Jadranka Jovanović, the first Serb to receive this significant recognition.
This prestigious international operetta prize was founded in 1986 with the intention of paying tribute to artists who have contributed to the development and success of the operetta, its promotion in the world in various terms.
