The Republika Srpska Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Alen Seranic, said that the Republika Srpska Government on Thursday adopted a proposed bill on protection from non-ionizing radiation which stipulates that persons younger than 18 are banned from solariums.

“In keeping with the development of contemporary technologies, we must answer to problems pertaining to the protection of health from non-ionizing radiations and this is why we adopted this bill. It resolves the issue of optical and ultraviolet radiation in solariums,” Seranic told reporters in Banjaluka on Thursday after a session of the Republika Srpska Government.

He says that the Republika Srpska Government adopted a draft bill amending and supplementing the law on social protection which regulates the issue of personal disability pensions for civilian invalids.

Seranic says that the bill deals with the issue of doctor’s notes for persons on hemodialysis.

The Minister of Health and Social Welfare says the Government drafted a strategy to improve sexual and reproductive health in Republika Srpska for the period 2019-2029 with the aim of improving the demographic situation in Srpska.

He says that the Government also drafted a strategy to improve the status of elderly people in Srpska for the period 2019-2028 which has ten goals and pertains to issues of importance for elderly people.

Seranic says that activities pertaining to the monitoring of the use of narcotics in schools in Srpska are planned for the coming period.
