NGOs will receive the status “association of interest to the city” for a period of two years instead of the previous three and with this rank will be entitled to free use of facilities ceded to them by the city, said the Head of Social Services Banjaluka, Radenko Djurica.
He added that along with the free space, NGO’s will receive annual basic funding, in accordance with the budget.
A public tender aimed at determining the status of associations was released yesterday, while the deadline for the submission of applications is 15 days from the date of publication.
After this tender, another will be announced for the funding of NGO projects and all organizations, regardless of their status, can send in their applications, said Djurica. He added that the decision will depend solely on the quality of the projects.
The city government is currently funding 47 organizations of interest to the city.
