Students from 48 elementary and secondary schools in Republika Srpska have so far assisted two humanitarian actions of the Banja Luka Committee to assist Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, paying a total of more than  20,000 KM.

Committee Chairman Milorad Arlov told Srna that, with the support of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Education and Culture, a dozen major elementary, several secondary and many schools with fewer students participated in actions to help build and equip the “Support Me – January 9” Day Center in Kosovska Mitrovica for 140 children and young people with developmental disabilities and “For a Children’s Smile in Kosmet”, within which New Year’s and Christmas packages will be purchased.

“We believe that many elementary and secondary schools from Republika Srpska will be involved by December 31,” Arlov said.

He stressed that until December 31, humanitarian number 1412 was opened to help build and equip a daycare center in Kosovska Mitrovica, a project started a year ago that requires much more funding to be completed by August 19.
