The ski-center Ravna Planina in Pale presented on Thursday a summer tourism offer which includes a gondola ride, mountaineering, fishing, horse riding, and gastronomic offer on a lookout point.
The spokeswoman for the Ravna Planina Ski Center, Jelena Mičić, told reporters that the center recorded the greatest growth of visits in the region.
“Hard work and commitment are that which distinguish us from others so that this winter season was the most successful with more than 100 days of skiing,” said Mičić and added that 800,000 skiing rides were recorded.
She added that the aim of the ski center is to work 365 days a year and to have guests during the summer as well.
Mičić stressed the importance of the summer season which offers a great number of activities, such as cycling on regulated 20-km-long paths, hiking, alpinism, zip-line.
She says that one can reach Jahorina and Romanija by regulated mountain paths from Ravna Planina.
Mičić says that it is possible to engage in all water sports on two artificial lakes, and that trout are being grown in one of them, adding that guests can catch them and grill on a barbecue.
The director of the Jahorina Tourism Organization, Igor Tošić, said that tourism in Istočno Sarajevo is growing which is confirmed by the fact that the winter season on Ravna Planina and Jahorina has been the most successful so far.
“The Ravna Planina Ski Center meets all conditions in keeping with FIS standards, all competitions that passed homologation are held there, it has an artificial snowing system, and this confirms that it is a serious ski center,” Tošić said.
He said that Ravna Planina is a vacation area which offers a variety of contents and is becoming a compact tourism unit thanks to the investor and owner of the complex, Veljko Golijanin, who did much for the City of Istočno Sarajevo and Pale Municipality.
Pale Mayor Siniša Lasica stressed that Ravna Planina is one of the most important tourism potentials, just like Jahorina.
“We are providing great support to the Golijanin family which is the owner of this tourism potential and to the Jahorina Olympic Center which had one of the most successful seasons. We wish them both to have the same seasons next year,” Lasica said.
