BH Ambassador to Poland Koviljka Spiric, believes that attracting foreign investments and promoting economic cooperation, especially in the field of tourism, should be a priority for BH and Republika Srpska.
Spiric believes that BH should adopt the Polish model for attracting foreign investments, which has proved to be very successful and has allowed the state to engage in investments in other countries.
After opening the conference on investments, which is being held in Teslic, Spiric told reporters that Poland is very interested in investing in the Western Balkans.
Executive Director of the Association of Economists “SWOT” Sasa Grabovac, said that the citizens savings accounts in BH banks indicate that something is wrong with the business climate, because they see saving as a safer option than investment.
He believes that plenty should be done in the future to attract foreign investors.
“We need to work on road infrastructure which must be accompanied by industrial- regional and other policies, it is very important to reform land administration which is now, due to non-compliance, creating big problems when issuing building permits”, added Grabovac.
Referring to the Bill on the Labour Law, Grabovac said that the association is fully committed to workers rights based on the model provided by developed countries, as well as the establishment of greater flexibility in the hiring and dismissing of workers.
During the conference experiences of countries in the region – Serbia, Croatia, and Poland – were recounted. Representatives of academia, institutions and the investors gave their opinions on the topic.
The conference “Investment as the most important generator of economic development”, organized by the Association of Economists “SWOT” is attended by the Prime Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Government Lejla Resic, the Minister of Trade and Tourism Maida Ibrisagic – Hrstic and the of Head of Representation of Srpska in Austria, Mladen Filipovic.
