On Monday 25th, a training on Blog and Social Networks in political communication was held in Sarajevo. Representatives of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation and Parliamentary Assembly of the B&H, as well as young members of parliamentary parties attended the training.
Within the project “Frontal Blog Challenge”, two trainings for political representatives were held, one in Banja Luka and the other in Sarajevo. The aim of the training is to educate representatives of political parties, decision makers and young people who will be in important political positions in the future, to use social networks as well as a blog for the purpose of presenting and promoting the policies they represent.
Participants had the opportunity to learn how to properly use social networks, good and bad examples of social media advertisements, as well as the structure of the blog and what it should contain.

“Every new knowledge is useful. Politicians should use social networks. I personally love to hear useful advice on how to adapt this form of communication to a modern society, to someone who wants to be informed, to hear new knowledge and to be aware of the fact that we are not people we all know. We are also regularly educated, especially interesting to me especially when it comes to using social networks, so that people in politics need to transmit information, and that this is not only said in the assembly and on the TV, but also by social networking, because it is something that leaves a written clue behind us, “said Branislav Borenovic, a representative in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

After receiving useful advice and guidance, MPs recognized the benefits and importance of open communication with citizens, and some decided to start writing their blogs after training.
“Every education is good, especially when it comes to the Internet and the media. Because every day is getting more advanced and because we have more and more users every day, we have to keep up with the times. I do not have a blog, but listening to today’s presentation and all the benefits that a blog brings, I decided to make a blog. “Said Aida Barucija, also a member of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

“In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the blog is poorly used, at least when it comes to officials and public figures, especially from the sphere of politics. An interesting idea is that it is applicable. It is only necessary to find enough time to do this, because it is worst to start doing something and not to do it continuously. You can not write a blog once in a half year, and consider using this method of communication. I’ve learned quite a lot of new things that can be applied not only when it comes to communicating through a blog, but in general a social network, ” said Damir Masic,  representative of the House of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH.
