The Republika Srpska Government decided to increase pensions by 13.5 percent in 2023, and funds have been provided in the budget, Prime Minister Radovan Višković said after a government session.
Višković has said that the increase was announced earlier, but that as of January 1, an extraordinary pension increase of 0.18 percent went into effect.
“At today’s government session, we made a decision on the extraordinary pension increase of 0.18 percent, so that the total increase in pensions for 2023 is 13.5 percent,” Višković said.
The prime minister pointed out that the adjustment of pensions, i.e. pension increase, is influenced by salary growth and the level of inflation.
“We have provided funds for this in the budget and we will monitor all economic indicators this year. When we are in a position to increase pensions, we will do so, as we did in the previous period,” Višković pointed out.
The prime minister reminded that the lowest pension last year was BAM 242 and that after the increase of 13.5 percent, it will amount to BAM 275.
