The raging and powerful river, with a strange male name Vrbas, begins its gorgeous flow at two springs in the mountain of Zec, a branch of the Vranica mountain, at a height of 1535 meters above sea. The Vrbas is a major river with a length of 250 kilometres.
Before reaching first settlement, the river passes 25 km down the mountains and canyons, through rapids and cascades, by beautiful landscapes rich in deverse flora and fauna.
It is populated with 22 fish species and some of the most common found in the upper river stream are brook trout, grayling and huchen.
Vrbas river basin is an ideal destination for fishing, camping or realxing hiking tours and also very convenient for different water sports.
