Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić says the talks in Tirana are not simple and are held in a complex environment, but it was easier as Serb member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik and Vučić protected the interests of Serbia and Republika Srpske together.
“It was easier for me today because I was with Dodik and we could together, side by side, protect the interests of Serbia and Srpska, so we have done it, it seems to me, in more open and relaxed way than we used to do. I said the same the other day and I say it today that many have not learned how to speak openly, thoughtfully and relaxed about everything,” said the president of Serbia.
He pointed out that many topics were raised, that many confrontations were heard, but that he was pleased that Dodik and he discussed openly.
“This is not an easy or a simple day. It is clear we are not heading towards calmer waters, but, what can you do, as sometimes the hard time comes as Gojko Đogo said, and you only try to protect your people and your country” said Vučić.
He said that Priština officials, feeling in Tirana at home, tried to say “we do not want Republika Srpska in Kosovo”, “We do not want two Germanies”, “We want America”.
“And we told them everything about it. You can call whoever. This is an issue between the Serbs and Albanians. We have to solve this. There is noone who can make Serbia oppose its national interests,” said Vučić.
Vučić stressed that he clearly told the Albanians that it was not a theater and that they should stop telling their people the fairy tales about unification.
It will get harder; numerous tensions over BiH have been shown too. President Dodik has protected the interests of Republika Srpska, respecting, of course, the integrity of the country which he comes from, thus the Republika Srpska people, who gave him legitimacy, needs to know it. It is our job to continue to work,” Vučić said.
The president of Serbia congratulated the citizens of Serbia and Republika Srpska on May 9 – the Victory Day and announced that Republika Srpska President Željka Cvijanović and Serb member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik will attend the military parade in Niš on Friday.
“The Serb people is one of the peoples that suffered the most. One among the five peoples in the world that suffered the most, certainly proportional to its number, both in the First and Second World Wars, thus this day together with the Europe Day, which is also important to us, is a great day for us. We will show on Friday we are freedom-loving people, proud and dignified, being able to take good care of themselves and caring about everyone in the region,” Vučić said.
In the joint statements with the Serb member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik to the media in Tirana, he said he hopes the clouds over Niš will not be low on Friday so everything that needs to fly will be able to fly, as he said, and that the most powerful parade so far will be seen there, which will send a clear message.
