In the territory of Herzegovina, more and more individuals are choosing to start their own businesses. With the help of programs launched by republican institutions with the intention of stimulating entrepreneurial spirit, some of them are already realizing their ideas.
Marko Bošnjak from Bileća started producing stainless steel elements a year and a half ago.
They are currently making stainless steel fences and containers for storing and fermenting wine. They offer containers of 100 to 500 liters and aim to complete the production process by 6,000 liters by the end of 2021.
– We are planning to purchase new and more modern equipment, first of all, welding machines and employing a new workforce so that we can start production of vessels up to 6,000 liters and plan to export to the EU market. Demand is high, and with current capacity, we can neither meet the needs of either the domestic or foreign markets – said Marko Bošnjak, owner of MB Inox.
The firm currently employs six workers. With the acquisition of new equipment, the need for a new workforce is increasing, however, the number of skilled people is decreasing.
– Every start is a difficult one, there are always conditions for advancement, the purchase of equipment would certainly come in handy and I think we are going in that direction. We work according to the needs of the job, sometimes eight hours, sometimes longer. We are satisfied in principle. I am a mechanical technician by profession, and at the moment I am working in the field of drilling inox, turning on a lathe and other jobs – says Neđo Samardžić, a mechanical technician at MB Inox.
And a young couple Stanić from Trebinje, started their own business – crafting craft beer. Just over a year ago, they made the first Hum Beer. The first recipe was successful.
– The equipment is very expensive, we started with a small machine to see how it would work, now we are moving to a larger facility, which requires a bigger machine and bigger investments. We hope that in 2021 we will start with some of our malt, or in cooperation with some other cities, all in accordance with financial possibilities – points out Sveto Stanić, the producer of Hum beer.
His wife Nevena emphasizes that they are satisfied with the production. He says that people like the taste of Hum Oiva and that husband Holy managed to make a flavor combination that is not too intense and that is tailored to our market.
Good business ideas should definitely be supported. The Accelerator Program of the Development Agency of the Republic of Srpska, which was recently implemented in Bileća, was designed.
Among the 18 applicants, these projects were selected among the top three business ideas. The rewards they receive will help them further develop their started business.
